Having recently been upgraded through a selection of renovations, you will be able to ascend the tower to its highest floors, and soak in the incredible views from on high. Entrance to the tower is included as part of the tour.

The tower’s grand story of the earth giving way beneath its weight is a tale of incredible triumph. What once could have spelled doom instead fueled the fiery passion of the cultural landmark. Its resulting lean has made the tower unique on a global scale, with restoration and stabilization efforts working to keep the lean safely intact – regarding it with equal importance to the flawless quality of the structure itself.

Not to be outdone, Lucca boasts a variety of features of its own. Known as the “Città d’arte” or Arts Town, it has been the birthplace of several major Italian composers, including Luigi Boccherini and Giacomo Puccini.

The town is steeped in Roman history, with a grid of Roman-style roads surrounded by medieval architecture. Its city walls were built in the renaissance era, and instead of expansion causing the walls’ eventual demolition (as is usually the case), Lucca has kept them intact – surrounding the older areas of this already historic settlement.
